Altona Early Years Hub:

At the heart of this facility is the belief that each child is a competent learner from birth. This 175 places state-of-the-art early year’s facility, located on the site of the Altona College P-9 School, will provide families integrated early years’ services including high quality and inclusive childcare (from birth to six years), three and four-year-old kindergarten programs which will support a strong transition to primary school. It also offers Maternal and child health, family support, early intervention programs and community rooms, all conveniently located within the one building.

It features an innovative design that includes multi-use, flexible spaces to support an integrated service delivery model for families that promotes community engagement and participation.

As a Certificate III Educator you will:

  • Partner with your team to provide an appropriate developmental and enriching program for children which maximises opportunities for them to develop to their full potential
  • Build trust with the families by respecting diversity and connecting to individual cultural needs. You will work in partnership with parents and encourage their involvement in the program
  • Have a sound knowledge of and experience with implementing the Early Years Learning Framework, National Quality Standards and Child Safety Standard
  • Be working full-time, 38 hours per week, plus an additional 2 hours to allow for a monthly RDO. The hours of work will extend between 7am to 6pm on a rotational roster.

To be considered you will have:

  • A Certificate III in Early Childhood or equivalent ACECQA approved qualification
  • Experience working as an Assistant Educator in a centre based environment
  • Current Working with Children’s Check and National Police Check
  • Current Level 2 First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis & Asthma Certificate
