Our newest service, Truganina South-East Family Centre is on the hunt for a passionate, friendly and enthusiastic Community Liaison Officer to join the team. This new role will be responsible for providing customer service and administrative support to the service. You will work closely with the Nominated Supervisor and Educators to focus on the needs of families, children, and communities. You will manage the reception desk and partake in duties such as liaising with internal and external stakeholders. This could be a part-time (4 days) or full-time position. What will you do?

  • Be a friendly face and oversee the centre’s reception area to greet all visitors to the Centre, assist with enquiries and provide a high level of customer service to families and centre users
  • Maintain administrative systems and electronic data management systems that contribute to the effective operation and management of the centre and ECMS
  • Provide effective administrative support, including preparation and distribution of correspondence and other documentation or materials required as directed by the Nominated Supervisor (e.g., letters, emails, newsletters for families, timesheets for staff)
  • Support programming by implementing program enrolment processes. Implement and operate an efficient room booking system
  • Conduct community engagement initiatives to learn about the needs of the local community
  • Provide input on community trends and needs, support centre staff and community activity providers to develop and adapt programs to match community priorities

Essential Criteria

  • Degree or diploma level qualifications in a relevant discipline and office administration experience
  • Experience working collaboratively with community groups and organisations to achieve joint outcomes
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • A self-starter who can proactively manage their workload
  • Strong capacity to build and maintain relationships and excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Naturally collaborative and able to understand other perspectives and priorities, with a strong orientation to playing your part within a team
  • Natural inclination for organisation and following processes
  • Strong IT skills, including ability to use excel and basic systems
