Church Street Children's Centre is one of our largest ELCs, and is currently seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Centre Director to join the team on a full time, ongoing basis. This state-of-the-art facility ensures children feel happy, calm and ready to learn as well as engaging and flexible indoor and outdoor play spaces filled with plenty of natural resources to support children's development.
This is a dynamic leadership opportunity which will allow you to work closely with the Centre director. You will also be supporting in the rooms as well as administration support. To succeed in this role, you will be required to demonstrate your working knowledge of the EYLF, NQS and Regulatory requirements and inspire and drive practices through mentoring Educators.
This Assistant Centre Director role is working 38 hours a week on a rotating roster between 7am - 6pm with a monthly rostered day off.
You will guide practice that ensures:
- Partner with the Centre Director to build strong collaborative relationships with parents, families, Educators and the local community to provide an inclusive and enriching play-based learning program for children.
- Lead development of the curriculum and the establishment of clear goals and objectives for teaching and learning and encourage reflective practice to provide effective learning experiences
- Partnerships with families to support a shared understanding of their child’s learning
- Lead and support a team of Educators by providing ongoing constructive feedback and coaching to improve operational practice, programs and values-first behaviour
- Effective communication skills including the ability to deliver critical information to a diverse audience including those with culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
- Be a motivated and driven leader who will inspire a positive learning culture
- Contribute to a child safe environment ensuring standards are met on a daily basis
Essential criteria:
- Diploma in Early Childhood or equivalent ACECQA approved qualification
- Experience working in a long day care centre
- Multilingual skills highly regarded
- Have a sound knowledge of and experience with implementing the Early Years Learning Framework, National Quality Standards and Child Safety Standard
- Experience leading a large team and ability to develop and maintain relationships with various stakeholders
- Current Working with Children's Check and National Police Check
- Current Level 2 First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis & Asthma Certificate
