We are seeking a dedicated Certificate III Co-Educator for an Inclusion Support Additional Assistant position who will join the team at Altona Early Years Hub. Altona Early Years Hub provides families with a state-of-the-art early years facility located on the site of the Altona College P-9 School. At the heart of this facility is the belief that each child is a competent learner from birth. The hub's team of nurturing and experienced educators deliver high quality and inclusive care (from birth to six years) and three and four-year-old kindergarten programs that help each child realise their potential.

Your role will support the room educators to provide an environment that is responsive to the individual strengths, abilities, and interests of all children between the ages of 3yrs – 4yrs. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children within the community.

This is a fixed term opportunity working 38 hours a week on Monday - Friday. This is on a rotating roster working 6hours a day between 7am – 6.15pm.

This role is immediate start until 23rd December 2023 with possibility to extend.

What will you do? 

  • Work collaboratively with your team to provide an appropriate developmental and enriching program for children which maximises opportunities for them to develop to their full potential
  • Build and maintain positive and meaningful relationships with children, families, staff and the local community
  • Be a motivated and driven Educator, who will actively contribute to the program, through detailed observations & documentation 
  • Build positive behaviour guidance strategies and provide spontaneous play-based learning experiences to extend on children's learning
  • Contribute to a child safe environment ensuring standards are met on a daily basis 

More about you 

  • Have a sound knowledge of and experience with implementing the Early Years Learning Framework, National Quality Standards and Child Safety Standard
  • A Certificate III in Early Childhood or equivalent ACECQA approved qualification
  • Experience working as a Certificate III Additional Assistant Educator in a long day care service.
  • Current Working with Children's Check
  • Current Level 2 First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis & Asthma Certificate
